Workshops - local and international

A growing number of people are interested in green building, earthen building, and permaculture techniques. Earthen Hand seeks to empower people with informative and hands-on instruction in a variety of natural building techniques. We promote a self-reliant, ecological lifestyle. While our students gain education, local communities gain a useful structure.

 

Building - small or large projects

We welcome any size project. Each earthen building we complete is a significant contributor to a larger movement. Bigger projects tend to get more attention, which is good for earthen building as a whole. Small sculptures of cob are so beautiful, and make great stylistic additions to a home or office. Content, texture, form and color are built to your specifications. Keep in mind that you can also request specific architectural artworks for your existing space. Design - hand drawn plans or renderings

A set of plans is a lot less expensive to change than a house. A great set of plans helps you think about your design a lot before breaking ground. We can provide professional quality plans and/or renderings in graphite or color.

 

Consulting & Owner-builder coaching

Most people who want to do their own green remodel or natural building can use a few hours of instruction and advice. We encourage this kind of relationship. Many projects that use natural materials can be completed in a large part by people with minimal training. Get your project done right with proper guidance. We can help you with choosing the right materials, detailed estimates, structural calculations, or permitting issues.
